Las Olas – Local’s favorite and 1000% authentic cuban breakfast

644 6th St

If you went to South Beach and didn’t have real cuban breakfast…did you even go?

Located in the heart of South Beach, las olas is an authentic Cuban eatery that offers fresh-squeezed juices, legendary Cuban sandwiches, and all-day breakfast.

Although las olas is located in the heart of South Beach, it gives awaysmall town vibes. The food is probably the most authentic you’ll find in South Beach. It carries all the essentials of Cuban cuisine you need.

Las olas is a small place, but I recommend eating outside and enjoy the weather.

The coffee is the best you’ll have in Miami and the service is quick. You can also eat inside or out for your pleasure, but I recommend enjoying the open air next to palm trees. The locals eat here and it’s where you should eat too. Not only does las olas have Cuban breakfast staples, but they also offer fresh made fruit smoothies and shakes.

They have a lot of Caribbean, American, and Central American food options. The baleada is a must-try – it’s a giant flour tortilla filled with refried beans, queso duro, and crema. The cashier advised me to add egg and avocado and it was absolutely perfect. I also had a delicious freshly-made cafe con leche and some plantains. So if you’re ever in the area, definitely check out Playa Cafe – you won’t be disappointed!
