Desperately seeking Camille Pissarro!

We had just a little bit of time to spend in Saint Thomas island, and the only thing I wanted to do was to see the Gallery Camille Pissarro, where he was born and spent a significant part of his life. The funniest story happened while we were trying to find the Gallery

Stopping at the market to buy some souvenirs, I asked one salesman if he knew how  we could get to Pissarro’s house, he looked surprised but said he would find out for us and left(I guess to ask somebody since he had no idea what I was talking about)…He came back and said:” He is not here today but he will be working on Friday”. My explanations about the famous impressionist and one of few cultural attractions of the island did not make sense to the guy.To none of the guys. Probably market was not the right place to ask about such things:)
